Baptisms

In the Church of England, our tradition is to baptise babies and young children to welcome them into the family of the church as a first step in their preparation to become an active part of the Church. It’s also equally valid for older children and adults who want to formally show how important their Christian faith has become to them.

It’s also a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to celebrate, in the setting of a church, the gift of a new life, with all the hope and joy that a child can bring.

We aim to make baptisms a special occasion that friends and families, and particularly other children, will remember with warmth and affection for many years. It’s also our opportunity to share with you something of the love and care that we’ve experienced within the St. Peter’s church family.

If you’d like to talk about the possibility of baptism for yourself or your children, please call the Church Office on 01252 331161 (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 am) and make an appointment to come along on a Wednesday evening for a chat to Linda Hill (pictured).
